College Football at West Point

We spent the day at West Point, NY today catching a game between Army and Stanford.  Stanford came in ranked 5th in the nation while Army was not ranked at all…so I expected a bludgeoning…but it turned out to be a pretty competitive and exciting game.

Stanford did win, but only by two touchdowns (the spread was about 30, so this is actually much closer than expected)…and Army closed the game out with a TD in the last 20 seconds…so it was a fun game for everyone.

Besides the game, we spent the morning participating in the pre-game activities and the afternoon at a post game tailgate party…so it really was a full day of fun.

I had to leave the tailgate party a bit early because we had parked our car at the complete opposite end of campus…and so I hoofed it across campus to pick up and relocate the car for an easier exit on the wife and kids.

When it was all said and done, I probably logged about 2-3 miles across the campus (up and down the many hills)…but what a great 2-3 miles. Beautiful scenery as you stroll along the cliffs and river…and you can’t help but feel the honor and pride for the U.S.A. as you roam the campus and see and meet many of the cadets.

Such a great time…if you ever have the opportunity, I highly recommend checking it out as well!
